Every day is dress up, for me. I always have liked jewelry, but my personal tastes have changed over the years and I’d say that makes me somewhat normal.

As a young woman growing up on a farm in Nebraska, I delighted in trying on the few pieces of jewelry in my Mother’s jewelry box.  But the jewelry I really loved, belonged to my Grandmother.  When I would visit her, as a young girl, she knew of my love for “her pretties” and she would let me get out all her pieces of beautiful old costume jewelry and line them up on the bed.

Cultured pearls graduated to large pearls and various pieces of rhinestone and glass and other collectibles over the years. My husband encouraged my passion for jewelry by buying me hundreds of fabulous “baubles” during our 42 year love affair.

I took a silversmith class with the idea of making jewelry and might do that yet, some day. By taking the class, I learned techniques which require great skill and some which even a novice can do fairly well.  It makes me really appreciate the creativity and skill of good artists and their works of art.

My friends often admired my jewelry and over the years asked me to purchase jewelry for them.  When asked what they want me to buy, they say, “Oh, just buy something you like and I will like it, too.”
So, over the last several years, I have been buying jewelry from some of my artist jeweler friends, from antique stores, vendors, street corners, friends, and most anywhere I found something unique and lovely.  This collection is the result of my search for jewelry “for the confident woman”.

So, why would you be drawn to my collection?  After all, I am not even the artist.  Perhaps because I am not the artist, my collection has greater appeal to more people and more aspects of even one person’s personality.

Just as we don’t wear the same clothes every day, women don’t wear the same adornments every day.  Those accessories change with the outfit, mood, weather and message we want to give the world.  So there is a need for variety from which to choose.  You will develop your own sense of style. If you wish help from me, I‘d be pleased to assist.  Sometimes with just a few short questions, I am able to make suggestions, which when paired together seem to be pleasing.

When my husband, best friend, and soul mate died five years ago, my life changed forever.  This website and my new business is the result of his unending faith in me and my tribute to his constant encouragement for me to “fly, butterfly, fly”.   Spirit bear roams the hills at Prairie Moon, in search of his butterfly.

With a heart full of love, for my Grizz.
